How to save a hardened paintbrush

I am embarrassed to say how many times I have had to resort to doing this.

Luckily, it works every time on acrylic and latex paints!  🙂

This time it took longer, but it did fix my much loved old work horse of a paintbrush.  Yay!

  1. brushes with hardenend oilpaint can be made like new by putting them in a jar with linseed oil, but you have to hang them otherwise the brushes don’t get there normal shape back as it takes a few days before they are soft again

  2. Brilliant!
Do you have to use one of the “bad” hand sanitizers with Triclosan in them, or will one of the safer hand sanitizers work?

    • I had no idea, so I had to go read the ingredients, and nope, there is no Triclosan in the hand sanitizer. By the way, it also takes Sharpie marks off things too,,. which is one of the reasons why I prefer to not use it on my hands very often! 🙂

  3. The trick in it is the alcohol. Since the it is in a gel form it can work without evaporating so quickly.
