Inktober- a little ink drawing every day- 1

The other day, my daughter posted on facebook that she was signing up for #inktober, sponsored by the Paint Spot

I have been working hard hard hard on a large commissioned tapestry and am also in the middle of developing new looms with Dewberry Ridge (thrilling!), so I have been totally absent from my blog.

#inktober feels like a good thing to do…. commit to paper with ink, with no erasing, just allowing whatever is ‘in there’, to land on the page.

I decided that I am going to do a daily drawing, using the arch shape of my Thumbelina loom, and see if any of my #inktober inklings need to become tiny tapestries.

Here’s today: #inktober 1:

I love ink blocks – these are Derwent water soluble ink blocks.

  1. That is a very nice idea to draw one picture a day…and I love the wee tapestry potential too!

    • Thank you, Kjerstin! I also love the discipline of doing the drawing in ink- what lands on the paper stays on the paper 🙂 I chose to work small so that I am not adding to an already intense schedule and burning myself out by committing to large. It feels quite delicious to invite the Thumbelina loom to be my muse for this challenge!
