A week of #inktober sketches Days 15 to 22

This has been an incredibly busy week, so I have just posted my inktober drawings to facebook:, but haven’t blogged them.

So, here is a catchup post: Days 15 – 22  of #inktober2016

Day 22:

I find that participating in challenges is a very rich experience…. sticking to a promise that I have made to myself is very good for flexing the commitment muscles.

And, a pattern language emerges that leads to other creative expressions.

So, even though these tiny drawings are obviously done very quickly, and some of them are certainly less than stellar, it’s still worthwhile to continue the practice.   I enjoy seeing how  thoughts, feelings, contemplations, the books I am reading, the other work and life in general is reflected in a few little lines  and splashes of ink.

Yes… a worthwhile practice indeed….  🙂

Inktober- A little drawing every day – Day 8

Happy Thanksgiving!  This is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend- my most favorite holiday of the year.

And, even though it snowed last night (really?  This early?)

I am still looking forward to the great gathering of family and friends that is about to happen in a few hours.

My delight about Thanksgiving bubbled up in today’s #inktober drawing:

Wishing you joy, may your days be filled with blessings, and may all who are stormswept or caught in difficulties, be well and safe and may everyone be happy.

Love.  Love. Love.

I am so grateful.  Thank you!

Inktober – a little drawing every day – Day 5

Today, for my #inktober2016 little drawing, I decided to just use black ink with no colored inks.

But then, the tiniest bit of ink wash just needed to sneak in.

These tiny women really speak to me.

They are high on my list for being woven as miniature tapestries on my Thumbelina loom.

That’s good, as that’s the main reason for me to be doing this daily challenge.

I’m loving it.

Inktober – a little ink drawing every day – 3

When I decided that I would commit to the #inktober2016 challenge, I felt that I would find unexpected blessings in doing it.

And I have!

I decided that I would use it as an opportunity to generate ideas for miniature tapestries to weave on my tiny Thumbelina loom  LINK (click the link to see more of what I have done with the Thumbelina loom)

And, that has really sparked all kinds of inspiration for me 🙂  (I’ll be sharing more about that later)

Here is today’s Inktober drawing, and, yes, Thumbelina snuck into the picture, too….

I’m still playing with my Derwent Inktense Blocks.  I think I may have to buy a larger set with more colors…. I love these ones, but would like more options….

This is a fun and inspiring challenge, and I recommend it if you feel the impulse to make your drawing practice a daily habit.

Some of the collateral blessings that I have experienced because of the challenge?

Well, challenges like this  create conversations that can lead to new discoveries, the sharing of information about favorite websites, materials, equipment and so much more.

I am enjoying these conversations and inspirations so much!
