This has been an incredibly busy week, so I have just posted my inktober drawings to facebook:, but haven’t blogged them.
So, here is a catchup post: Days 15 – 22 of #inktober2016

I find that participating in challenges is a very rich experience…. sticking to a promise that I have made to myself is very good for flexing the commitment muscles.
And, a pattern language emerges that leads to other creative expressions.
So, even though these tiny drawings are obviously done very quickly, and some of them are certainly less than stellar, it’s still worthwhile to continue the practice. I enjoy seeing how thoughts, feelings, contemplations, the books I am reading, the other work and life in general is reflected in a few little lines and splashes of ink.
Yes… a worthwhile practice indeed…. 🙂

I am feeling VERY happy because yesterday, I finished a large commissioned tapestry that I have been working hard on for more than 3 months.
So, I am able now to get to a list of projects and designs that have been on hold for those 3 months
Today, we had a huge snowstorm- well, I don’t think it was a storm in the city, because the rain and snow all came straight down without any evidence of wind and it wasn’t that cold…. but…. wowsa…. MUCH, much snow!
Jim and I spent some quality time shoveling the wet heavy snow.
While I was shoveling, I was thinking about a little bunny that I have designed to weave on my Thumbelina loom.
So, of course, she showed up in today’s #Inktober sketch:
Alright, snow is shoveled, tea is made, time to weave….
😀
Day 13 of inktober 2016 is all about a whole lot of happy dancing….
May joy bubble up in your day, too!
Keep on doing what makes you happy…. ❤

Today is officially Thanksgiving in Canada, but people tend to celebrate it on whatever day of the long weekend works best for them.
Today is Day 10 of #Inktober2016.
I am still playing with Derwent Inktense ink blocks. Love them. I bought these a few years ago, and am pleased by how well they last. Nice things.
I’m still working with the concept of designing tiny tapestries to weave on my Thumbelina loom, and enjoying that enormously.
Because I am working on the arduous stages of finishing a large tapestry commission, it’s pure pleasure to work on such a tiny scale with my @inktober drawings.

Happy Thanksgiving! This is Canadian Thanksgiving weekend- my most favorite holiday of the year.
And, even though it snowed last night (really? This early?)
I am still looking forward to the great gathering of family and friends that is about to happen in a few hours.
My delight about Thanksgiving bubbled up in today’s #inktober drawing:
Happy Thanksgiving! Noreen Crone-Findlay (c)
Wishing you joy, may your days be filled with blessings, and may all who are stormswept or caught in difficulties, be well and safe and may everyone be happy.
Love. Love. Love.
I am so grateful. Thank you!

Day 7:
I draw all the time, but the little drawings that I have been doing for Inktober have been different…
they seem to be coming from a place that I haven’t been tapping into lately.
So, now, I get really excited when I sit down to do my Inktober drawing, because I look forward to seeing what is going to arrive on my paper.
I ask myself: Who is in there?
And, today, the answer is:
#inktober day 7 Noreen Crone-Findlay (c)
I’m intrigued by the possibilities of how on earth I would weave these as tapestries.
I don’t know. I shall have to see how this unfolds….
